OceanBox

Been on every trip.
Forgot nothing.

OceanBox is your vessel’s digital supporting officer. It knows what you caught, what the echosounders saw, what the conditions were, where you went and what the fleet was doing. No dashboards full of layers and toggles. Just a conversation, and only what you need to see.

💬

Ask OceanBox about your acoustic observations, catches, environmental conditions, vessel track or fleet activity. It answers from your own data.

⚖️

You decide. OceanBox backs you up with evidence. Your judgment, supported by your own data.

📲

On the bridge, in the wheelhouse or on your phone — your supporting officer is ready when you need it.

It starts on the vessel

An autonomous data collection unit on your vessel

OceanBox places a compact IoT unit onboard that connects to your echosounder and vessel systems. It collects acoustic, positional and operational data on every trip — continuously, autonomously and without crew effort.

The unit runs on open-source, science-based standards. Data flows securely to the cloud, where it becomes available to your supporting officer. Your skipper doesn't need to do anything — the box handles it.

  • Acoustic data from echosounders
  • NMEA navigation and vessel data
  • Environmental conditions (temperature, depth, wind)
  • Secure, automatic transfer to cloud storage

Catch and haul data reaches OceanBox through other channels and is combined with the sensor data in the cloud.

How your skipper uses it

He asks. It shows. He decides.

Other platforms overload the skipper with maps, charts, sliders, legends, dropdowns and selection boxes. OceanBox does the opposite: it has a discussion with your skipper and shows only what he wants to see. Nothing more. Minimal cognitive load for skippers and fleet managers — maximum focus on the decision at hand.

01

Ask a question

Your skipper talks to OceanBox the way he’d talk to a knowledgeable colleague. “What did we catch in this area in week 38 last year?”

02

See the evidence

The screen shows what’s relevant to that question — catch history, echosounder observations, conditions, zone rules. No navigation required.

03

Keep the conversation going

Follow-up questions narrow it down. “And what were the wind conditions?” or “Which of those areas is still open this season?”

04

Your skipper decides

OceanBox backs him up with his own data. The judgment stays with the skipper. The evidence is there when he needs it.

What OceanBox does for your vessel

Three things your skipper can ask about, any time

Navigation and fishing area intelligence

Where to start looking

Based on your own catch history, observations and conditions from previous trips. Where did you find fish in this area, in this week of the season, in past years? OceanBox knows — and tells you.

Fishing regulations and zone restrictions

Rules on the way and on the grounds

Which zones are open? What regulations apply on your route and at your destination? Know before you leave port. No surprises on the grounds.

Historical catch and echosounder data

Everything your vessel recorded

Acoustic observations, catch data, water temperature, depth, wind, vessel track, AIS and fleet positions. Your complete trip history — structured, searchable and ready to discuss.
